Top 10 Bible Verses about Healing

Top 10 Verses about Healing

Physical and mental healings are contained through-out the entire Bible! God supernaturally healed people during the Old Testament times and Jesus continuously performed healings during the New Testament times. In fact, the Bible states Jesus healed all sicknesses and all diseases of all who came to him. The Bible also tells us God (God the Father, Jesus the Son, and Holy Spirit) never changes. In other words, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8; Malachi 3:6), so we can have assurance that God’s same biblical-day healings and compassion are still available to us today! The Bible also tells us that scripture is health or medicine to our body and nourishment to our bones. So, try thinking of the “Gospel” as the “Gos-pill” – as it is “good news” to our health! Therefore, taking a daily dose of God’s Word (reading, listening, speaking, and meditating on healing verses) is important for maintaining good health – physically, mentally, and spiritually. For those who happen to be sick, try taking 2-3 daily doses of God’s spiritual medicine as well as saying a prayer of faith knowing that God will heal you. God wants us healed and He provides numerous scriptures to provide encouragement, assurance, comfort, and healing!

“Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.”  Psalm 103:2-3

My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.”  Proverbs 4:20-22

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”  Psalm 147:3

Surely He took on our infirmities and carried our sorrows; yet we considered Him stricken by God, struck down and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”  Isaiah 53:4-5

When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him. When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.”  Matthew 8:14-17

“Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.”  Jeremiah 17:14

O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.”  Psalm 30:2

Beloved, I pray that in every way you may prosper and enjoy good health, as your soul also prospers.”  3 John 1:2

And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”  Mark 5:34

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”  1 Peter 2:24

There are so many wonderful and powerful verses about healing we decided to provide some extra healing verses (extra spiritual medicine) below:

Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.”  Matthew 9:35

Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”  James 5:14-16

But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the LORD.”  Jeremiah 30:17

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”  Proverbs 17:22

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”  Proverbs 3:5-8

“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.  Mark 10:52

Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’”  Luke 10:9

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”  John 10:10

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”  Mark 11:22-24

He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.”  Psalm 107:20

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”  Revelation 21:4

NOTE: Since healing is very related with one’s faith we highly recommend you also read the Top 10 Verses on Faith.  For example, we read in the majority of the New Testament healings where Jesus stated to the healed person “your faith has healed you,” which is very eye-opening.  In other words, Jesus oftentimes demanded faith before He supernaturally healed the person.  Fortunately, Jesus tells us our faith doesn’t need to be super strong.  For example, Jesus tells us in Matthew 17:20 that our faith can be as small as a tiny mustard seed and still be sufficient and effective. Praise the Lord!  Thus, a person’s individual faith is very important as it’s the conduit to receiving God’s supernatural healing power.  Click the below image to go to the Top Verses on Faith:

The $1 Million Dollar Question:

Will you go to Heaven when you die? Here’s a quick test:
Q. Have you ever told a lie?
Q. Have you ever stolen anything?
Q. Have you ever used God’s name in vain?
Q. Have you ever lusted over someone?
Q. Have you ever hated someone?

If you have done these things, God sees you as a liar, a thief, a blasphemer, an adulterer-at-heart, and a murderer-at-heart. And this is only 5 of God’s Ten Commandments (a/k/a “God’s Law”). And the Bible warns that on the Day of Judgment, God will punish you in a terrible place called Hell. But, there is “good news”! God is not willing that any should perish. Sinners broke God’s Law, but Jesus paid their fine by shedding His sinless blood on a cross ~2,000 years ago. This means that God can legally dismiss their case (and yours!): “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) Then Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death. Today, repent (turn away from your sins), put your complete trust in Jesus, and confess Jesus as your Lord & Savior… and God will give you eternal life as a free gift.

The $1 Million Dollar Myth:

Contrary to popular belief, being a “good person”, doing “good deeds”, or being “religious” will not get you a ticket to heaven! Many people are hoping God will dismiss their sins because their good deeds outweigh their bad deeds. They further hope that because God is “good” he will let them go unpunished and enter heaven. However, because God is “good” he must by nature punish sinners (i.e., God would not be a good judge if he let criminals go free). The Bible states: “There is no one on earth who is righteous, no one who does what is right and never sins.” (Ecclesiastes 7:20) The Bible also states: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9) And finally, think about this, if your goodness could save you, Jesus would have died in vain (i.e., for no good reason). The Bible states: “I (Jesus) am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through me. (John
14:6) Friends, please don’t “roll-the-dice” and gamble your eternal life on the life-threatening lie that being a “good person” will get you to heaven.

Yes, today I am deciding to follow Jesus:

Here is a prayer you can use to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord & Savior. It is a suggested prayer – the key is that you are speaking from your heart.
“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me turn away from sin going forward. I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ, died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus into my heart and I confess him as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank You for sending your Holy Spirit to help me obey you, and to do your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Congratulations! And welcome to God’s family!
